Sticky! Story List Because I'll never have the technical ability to make myself a website here is a list of my fic. List will be updated as I write... Universal Disclaimer: Any one you recognise in any of these fics? Belongs to themselves or to someone else who isn't me... I'm just playing with their toys( fic list of doom - or, okay, not doom ) |

LJ? Where'd you gooooo? ETA: And why is IJ now so slow? ETA 2: LiveJournal.com is currently unavailable due to emergency maintenance. Don't worry, this has nothing to do with our recent company layoffs! It's a technical problem, not a lack-of-personnel problem.
Thank you for your patience. Nice of them to make sure we know that. Current Mood: confused |

swimming in the frozen sky First day back at work today after 10 days off. Which leads directly to me trying to struggle through the day on five hours sleep, which lead to me turning on my computer this morning, checking the news feed and reading: mortgage help to be given to smugglers.
“Cool,” I think, “It must be hard to get a mortgage with that kind of unsteady income.” … Pause. “Wait, what?”
It turns out it said “strugglers”. That is so much less fun.

There was snow when I woke up this morning! How much cooler would it have been if it had snowed during any one of the days when the whole country wasn’t trying to get back to work? We could have had snowball fights! (I don’t know, I’m like a Panic boy in Vegas, I don’t know what a person does with snow…)
---
My fingers are itching to write fic, which only happens when I’m at work not when I have days and days spare (what’s with that?). Mostly I want to finish my post-Bob’s operation Bob/Brian fic, except I can’t because they’re stupid stubborn boys who keep mocking each other flirtatiously but won’t actually kiss. *I* would kiss Bob Bryar *or* Brian Schechter, so what’s the matter with them?
---
Ooh the sky is an ominous purple colour. I wonder if there’ll be more snow? |

Eugh, I am tired and grumpy and headache-y. Why do you all live so far away? I want hugs!
/emo
My parents have gone off on their epic round-the-world trip (Hong Kong --> Sydney --> New Zealand --> San Francisco --> home) and left me with such necessary instructions as "feed the cat" "check who's at the door before opening it" "don't let the beer in the garage freeze". Makes me wonder how they think I lived away from home for three years at uni!
Currently am watching the new ITV show, Demons. Not entirely sure what's going on with Philip Glenister's accent and the heroes of TV shows should NOT be born in 1990, okay? But otherwise it's pretty fun. Not exactly Merlin or Torchwood but nothing ITV tries ever is, but still. Fun. And they say 'smiting' a lot, which is always a plus. |

PS - Is anyone watching Richard Hammond's new show on BBC1? This is unexpectedly hilarious. |
| 6:02 pm |
drumroll, please... So the next Doctor is... ( dum dum DUM )Heh, the guy on the BBC news just before Confidential said David Tennant is the "tenth of several" actors to play the Doctor. Tenth of several? So that's like the tenth, then? ETA: they're playing Thnks Fr Th Mmrs over the montage! Fandoms collide! |

HAPPY (ALMOST) NEW YEAR EVERYONE! I am not doing anything exciting tonight - due to a combination of the epic coldness that is outside (okay so it's about 0C and all of you in places that get a proper winter are laughing at me but that's cold here, okay?), still not really being able to walk, and traumatic memories of last year in London when random strangers kept attempting to put their fingers in places that fingers need an invitation to go. People should feel free to come and talk to me if they are also planless tonight. I don't have any resolutions except: finish more fics. My WIP folder is always ridiculous, but at the moment it's just crazy. It's full of fics that could so easily be finished if I just had a little more confidence in my writing ability, so that will be my goal for 2009. There are two memes that people are doing to mark the end of the year(!) and so: ( The fandom meme )( non-fandom (a.k.a. life) review 2008 )PS - Happy Birthday, Bob Bryar! Feel free to keep Twittering forever, especially when you're encouraging people to cheat on dog rescue competitions. PPS - One more hour left of 2008! ♥ |

this story's going somewhere Whee! The Dr Who Christmas special was excellent. David Tennant is the best Doctor ever and nothing will ever convince me otherwise. ( cut for spoilers )And now... Yay for Yuletide! Other people look forward to food or presents or seeing family at this time of year, I count down to Dr Who and Yuletide. I got two fics this year! My main one was for Die Hard: No Sleep Til Brooklyn - which has just about the most amazing Matt-voice and protective!John. I also got a Treat for Merlin: Worrying The Thread which is adorable and awesome. THANK YOU, SANTAS! A couple of recs from the other fics I've read so far: NyQuil, Succubi, and Other Tall Tales - Tanya Huff's Smoke Series - Lee gets to save the world! The second book is my favourite precisely because it has the whole team banding together and this fic really captures that sense. Five Ways Tony Foster Didn't Save the Day - Tanya Huff's Smoke Series - title says it all (the last one's my favourite). Crush - American Idol RPS - in which Cook has a crush and Archie has grown up (a little). That Shall Achieve the Sword - Merlin - seriously awesome and plotty while still being adorably pre-slashy. Happy Christm... *looks at clock* Fine, okay, Happy Boxing Day ♥ |

4 hours 39 mins until the Yuletide archive opens - and no, I'm not allowed to stay up for it, but I can't wait to wake up in the morning and read all that lovely, lovely fic!
Love you all, f-list. |

don't call me up when the snow comes down *spins around in circles across her empty office*
Wow, it's so wrong to be at work on Christmas Eve! This is normally the day that I'm frantically doing all my shopping, which to be fair I still have to do but not until they let us go (hopefully around three *crosses all extremities*).
So anyway, I'm definitely not going to do any work today so what should I dooo? Is anyone else working today? Let's have our own little LJ party. |

Signs you should really give up and go home (or that you've read Tanya Huff's Smoke and Mirrors a *few* too many times):
In the very important, to an applicant letter that you're writing, you type 'evil servants' instead of 'civil servants'. Um, ooops?
Got to say, life would be a LOT more interesting if we only gave grants to evil servants though...
Hands up if you're working today? We could form a club. |

then came a baby boy with long eyelashes Ryan is at Pete's house meeting Bronx! The only thing I can think of cuter than that would be Brendon at Pete's house meeting Bronx. But just imagine Ryan Ross with the baby! He would secretly love it but have no idea what to do with it. I know this is a stupid thing to get squeeful about, but I love how Ryan and Pete have clicked. I mean Pete went from being Pete Wentz, this dude who Ryan looked up to and wanted to be, and Ryan went from being this creepy stalker kid on the internet, and now they're really good friends who hang out and are equal. IDK, I'm kind of feverish, but it makes me happy. In other news: still really kind of sick. Actually, sicker. I have all but lost my voice. I have never lost my voice in my life. I need my voice! I use it for talking! Does anyone have any spare hugs? I will wrap them around myself like a blanket. |

Bleh am ill, please send tissues and paracetamol and band boys for hugs.
FAD finally arrived! I didn't know it came with Beat It! Dancing around my kitchen while sneezing uncontrollably is a very interesting experience.

Still no Folie A Deux CD of my own. Why, Amazon? Why do you hate me? Guaranteed delivery by 1pm on Monday is not the same as still not here by Wednesday night :(
However, I did get given Chinese Democracy and the new Killers album from Secret Santas at work yesterday and I bought the new Elbow album today so I do have lots of new music. Just not Patrick music :(:(
Right. No posting. Yuletide writing. *flitters way*. Think of me fondly! |

I'll take something over nothing anyday In a display of epic fail, my copy of Folie a Deux did not arrive today (possibly because Amazon is a big ball of suck). I got to hold the CD in my hands for a few brief moments in HMV but that was it :( Also, apparently the Cobras' UK tour has been postponed again? I did not know this! Were seetickets planning to tell me or were they just expecting me to rock up to the venue in Feb? Poor, poor Gabe. I hope William everyone is giving him giant hugs. HOWEVER, IN MUCH BETTER NEWS: My Live in Chicago CD arrived! The picture book is awesome, I'm so in love. Cannot stop looking at the pictures. I would like a Shane of my very own; do you think Brendon could be persuaded to share? Other things that have been awesome lately include... This little song which is a Folie a Deux bonus track and also that lullaby that Pete was talking about forever ago. It's so cute that I'm forced to make heart-hands at the speakers. This fic: A Lovely Apparition by wordslinging, which everyone should read right now. It's a Frank/Gerard regency AU, with cross-dressing and pining and misunderstandings and an awesome Mikey. Really the only way it could be better would be to be even longer. Plus! Almost all of my favourite writers are posting fic at the moment. I have dozens of epically long stories saved in tabs. I just have to finish my Yuletide fic... Yeah. That little thing! What about you? Is anything making you especially happy lately? |

just off the key of reason Whoo, I survived our work Christmas party! And now, seven hours after I fell asleep, here I am back at work. Whoever decided to hold parties on a work night should be shot.
Cannot remember what I’m supposed to be doing, may just read fic instead. Help! Send coffee!
Also, from Pete Wentz’s blog re Baby: ps trust me he’s cute. he looks like his mommy. Excuse me, I’m dying of adorable ♥ |
